It is pleasure to pen a few words about the college. This college is run by the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara which is established by Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. It has been imparting higher education in Commerce discipline to the masses especially needy, deprived, rural and disadvantaged student community. It is a matter of great pride to convey that, this is the first Commerce College in the jurisdiction of Shivaji University that enjoys Academic Autonomy since June 2016. Since October 2021 this college became the Constituent College of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara. The college has attained UGC-CPE status and recertified ISO 9001-2015. It offers education in 4 disciplines B. Com (Regular), B. Com (Information Technology), B. Com (Bank Management), Bachelor of Computer Application and PG programs in Commerce with 3 specializations. Students are benefitted with 6 self-financing career-oriented courses along with 4 Professional courses, support services and inter-disciplinary activities. Besides, ours is the only center in Satara district for C.S. and C. A., CPT and IPCC. The college has an ‘Earn and Learn’ scheme which fulfils the motto of our parent institution Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara. The college is enriched with research-oriented teaching staff, sound infrastructure, strong Alumni Association and good ambience. It has been continuously striving to achieve excellence in all spheres of academic activities. I am happy to share that NAAC acknowledged our quality-striving endeavors and accredited this college with ‘A+’ Grade with 3.61 CGPA in third cycle of assessment and accreditation.
This college is ranked as 110th by NIRF in 2017. In the Academic Audit of Shivaji University, Kolhapur the college scored 89% marks with ‘A+’ Grade. This is a RUSA funded college which excels in academics and extra-curricular activities. “Trade Fair Day” and “Entrepreneurship Development Cell” are the best practices of the college. Through ‘Trade Fair Day’ students learn not only marketing and management skills but they donate the money to orphanages, schools, hospitals etc. ‘ED Cell’ also promotes the new startups to the students of the college. This college is known for IBPS which offers ample of opportunities of placements to the students. This college has research-oriented faculty which is the ranked by ‘World AD Scientific Index & Fox Story’. This college is mentoring other colleges of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha and other colleges in vicinity about NAAC accreditation and assessment.
Presently, in our college, 3049 students are seeking education in various disciplines. Most of the students are from rural area. Among them 65% students are girls. Through Curricular, Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities, we are trying to enhance students employment opportunities to fill the gap between demand and supply in service industries. We have hostel facility for boys and girls. We are working under guidance of Sanstha and College Development Committee (CDC) of the college. We welcome suggestions from the stakeholders.
